We are in Arusha, Tanzania! We are serving together with the local church here, and have been doing some door-to-door evangelism. God blessed us with some new believers in Christ! Unfortunately they do not have money for Bibles, a Bible costs aprox R60 ($10). If God burdens your heart to provide for our brothers and sisters in Arusha, please respond to His call and support us in that. Soon we will update you on our ministry here. Please keep on praying!
Greetings in Christ!

R18 000
nodig

Pressing forward to the upward call!

The 400m final has been announced and the athletes take in their positions. These athletes have been preparing for many months, hours of training everyday. This is the ultimate track event and there is no turning back. The most challenge part of the 400m race is the last 100m sprint; you have to finish strong!
The Yellow Team is lined up and they are taking up the challenge. This will be the ultimate race; finishing the 'World Race' strong.
We started the World Race with very little funds in our account but stepped out boldly, leaning on Gods promise that He will provide every step of the way and He has been faithful. Everyday we woke up knowing that God has already provided for this new day. We worked on a very tight budget and used half a dollar per person per meal. Never did we go to bed hungry or cold, God satisfied our desires.
There were many occasions where God blessed us. While we were ministering on the Island of Koh Sireh in Thailand the community blessed us with a bag full of fish. Like princes and princesses we sat at the banquet table of our Father. In Greece we had the opportunity to sing our South African folk songs on the squares and street corners and raised enough money to pay for our train ticket to Ephesus. We would find a wild fig-tree when really needed. We have been obedient, faithful in prayer, fasting and trusting God and He has brought is all this way.
We are on our final stretch and we need your support. We do not have enough funds to finish the race, but we choose to press forward in faith.
The Yellow Team is asking for your support: please help us raise enough money to complete the World Race.
We need
2000$

The Yellow Team in Central Egypt

The morning has broken and the sun is still making its way over the horizon of the desert. Silence hangs over the village of Qussia, like a city without life.
The silence is broken as the priest worships his Father with a chant.
The words of truth is echoes in the distance and rests in a quiet place like the dust after a storm.
The road to Bloemfontein through Lainsburg always seemed so long and unending until I followed the road that lead me to this village called Qussia.
Hours of traveling and all I could see was heat waves, sand, camels and desert and desert and desert…flat just like the Free State.
When our bus drove into the village it was like driving into an oasis.
The best looking crops I have seen this whole year.
Lush green date trees, people on donkeys and branches of the Nile River.
But this was not the cherry on the cake…!

When we entered the village we were escorted by Police officers.
I must confess I felt very important because we had armed guards by our side and we were lead to a door of a palace; the place where we are living now, the Bishop's house.
I stood in the courtyard with my jaw on the ground, never have I seen such a beautiful house.
We are working and studying with the Coptic Christian Church.
The village we are in is the same place where Joseph and Mary fled with Jesus and they stayed here for six months.
We are doing a study on Church History and spending time in scripture, reflecting on the life of Moses.
During the day we are involved with the Church summer program:
Teaching English, working with the orphans, helping the teachers prepare for next term, helping the students with their Revelation program, Bible study, Sunday school ect.
The young people are very open and love making conversation.
We are having a very blessed time and getting so much insight.
I would like to share a scripture with you; the prophecy over Egypt.
Isaiah 19:19-25

Greetings from out of the great city Athens in Greece.
Our journey from Croatia (Dalmatia) through Italy to Greece took us over the Adriatic see which Paul the Apostle probably sailed a few times in his life.
Our ferry took us to the port of Patra, Creece, from where we traveled to Corinth.
At the ruins of Ancient Corinth we were taken back to aprox. 52 AD when Paul lived in Corinth, manning his tent-making shop at the market place, and preaching the gospel to all in the town.
We even saw the Bema(tribunal) from where Paul spoke to the Corinthians.
It was such a privilege to walk in Ancient Corinth while reading about what has been said, about this exact city in the Bible.

Our journey then took us to Athens where all the World Racers were reunited at Areopagus Hill near the Acropolis.
It was there that Paul was taken to, as written in Acts 17:16-34 to present his teachings about Jesus to the men o Athens.
There we also received the instructions for our "Revelation Race" where all the teams will race to Ephesus, with different assignments on the way.

One of these assignments is to tell you our teams thoughts about John's letters to the seven churches, as written in Revelation 2-3.
In every one of the seven letters, Jesus tells John three specific things about that church.
He tells them that He knows their deeds(ministry), warns them about what they do wrong, and gives a promise to them.
The first letter is written to the church in Ephesus, where Jesus acknowledges their hard work and perseverance.
The church endures hardships for His names sake, but God warns them that they have forsaken their first love.
This is also a warning applicable to us, and many other missionaries in this time.
We tend to focus so much of the things of God, that our focus is drawn away from the God of all things.
Here is also promised that if we return to Jesus, our first love, we will eat from the tree of life, which gives access to the pathway from the gates of heaven to the city, as written in Revelations 22.
The church in Smyrna (currently known as Izmir, Turkey) is the second church that is written to.
God knows their afflictions and poverty, and warns them too not be afraid about what they are about to suffer.
If they are faithful to the point of death, they will be given the crown of life.
We can compare the church in Smyrna to the current church in China which we visited earlier this year.
They too are faced with various afflictions and live amongst poverty, but their reward will be in heaven, as promised in this letter,
Thirdly John is told to write to the church in Pergamum ( Bergama, Turkey).
They have remained faithful witnesses to Jesus.
Their warning is against false teachings, eating sacrificed food and committing sexual immorality.
If they do not overcome this, God will fight them with the sword of His mouth.
Thai is the Word of God.
If they do overcome, they will receive the hidden manna the everlasting life through Jesus.
They will also receive a white stone with their new name on, which means they will be a new creation in Christ.
Thus, if we read the Bible, we will be able to see which teachings are false, and also learn how to be a new creation.
This year, while experiencing the world practically, we are also being formed into a new creation.
The fourth letter addresses the church in Thyatira.
Jesus knows their various good deeds, and that they have grown.
The warning is against their toleration of Jezebel, a prophetess who misleads the people into sexual immorality and eating sacrificed food.
It is written that she will be cast on a bed of suffering, her followers will suffer intensely and her children will die.
The people of Thailand are still caught up in there sins, and we will see the effects of such sins even more in Africa.
Sexual immorality brings AIDS, of wich the effects are depicted in Revelations2:22-24.
These who overcome, are promised to rule over nations and to be given the Morning Star, which is Jesus.
Sardi's church is called to wake up and strengthen what is about to die.
In the fifth letter they are waned that Jesus will come like a thief in the night, and they will not even know it.
We see this specifically in the Western World, where people are Christians by name, but are spiritually asleep and blend in with the world.
This is also a warning to some of you, to wake up in order to prevent your name from being blotted out of the book of life.
The second last letter is written to the church in Philadelphia.
God knows their deeds, and has put a door in front of them that no one can shut.
The door is Jesus Christ, who leads to eternal life.
Even though they have little strength, they have kept God's word.
Like this church we must also hold on to our crown and we will be rewarded in heaven.
We have experienced this lack of strength sometime this year, but will keep our eyes on Christ and hold on to the authority and blessings we have in Him.
Lastly, the church in Laodicea is addressed on the fact that they are neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm Christians.
They act as if they do not need a thing, but in reality God will spit them out of His mouth because they are wretched and blind.
But what does it meant to be lukewarm?
Test yourself if you have the fire of the Spirit inside you, burning with love and passion, drawing you nearer to God and giving you a love for Himself and His lost sheep.
If you lack that fire, or choose to ignore the calling of God, you will be spit out of God's mouth just like the church of Laodicea is warned.
"Here I am!
I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with me.
To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcome and sat down with my father on His throne." Revelation 3:19-21
Hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
Test yourself, read the warnings and promises, and be built up in your relationship with Christ.
May you be abundantly blessed by the Father!
Greetings from Greece

The Philistines are upon us!

That was our initial thought as 60 teenagers arrived at Emek Beraka just a few hours the youth left on Monday. Although their individuality and their acts surprised us, we really learned to love them with the love of Christ.

The theme of the camp was the Olympics. All of us were divided into groups with names of countries, and the games began! We filled their week with sports and adventure, building relationships with them and sharing with them the love of Christ.
Every morning we, the full time team, prayed for an hour to seek God's guidance and strength for the day. We got a chance to share the gospel with every teen, giving them the opportunity to receive Christ in their hearts.
One of the highlights would be the Iron Man competition, where they paired up and raced through 17 challenges, mentally and physically, to the finish line. They had to build a fire high enough to burn through a certain string, solve a brainteaser, and search for colored rocks in a field, work together and overcome fears. It was amazing to see God changing individuals, drawing them nearer to Him.
The week drew to a close, and as the teens left, the campsite become filled with ever-energetic, ever-running-screaming-jumping-playing little people ages 4 to 13. They were taken back to the time of Jesus in Jerusalem. Every day they went to the Jerusalem marketplace. They became part of the culture by making harps, weaving their own rugs, smelling and tasting spices, and so many more.

They experienced the life of Jesus firsthand as they saw dramas of the people in the marketplace who knew Jesus. God really used that, as well as the other activities on the camp, to show His Fatherheart to them and draw to them and draw them closer to Him. The kid's camp was tiring, but amazing spiritually.

The five weeks of the camp was a Godly success as His will was done and His kingdom expanded. God is starting something new in the church of Bosnia, so please pray with us that this will be done.
We were in Croatia for debrief, resting in God and sharing experiences of what our King has been doing throughout Bosnia and Croatia. We were also blessed by a Croatian church-planter and brother in Christ where he is sharing his journey and wisdom with us.

We are making our way to Turkey and Egypt where we will visits Biblical Sites and continue with ministering to the people God puts on our way. Please pray for our team, specifically for strengthening us, leading us and for our finances.
Blessing in Christ from the Yellow team! Thank you for every one of your support and carrying us in your prayers.

(PRAISE GOD!)

It is just a week ago that our newly set-up camp here in Bosnia was filled with over a hundred youth of ages 18-25. But today it felt like saying goodbye to lifelong friends. God has really knitted us all together as His church, the bride He longs for.
Bosnians, Croats, Serbs, South Africans, Americans, and even christians from Romania, Laos, and UK praised God this week like never before. He definitely did something new, just like He told us through Isaiah 43:19 before the camp.

Young people dedicated their lives to Christ. Others were greatly encouraged and no one left the camp untouched. We worshiped God in many ways...flags and Hebrew dancing, staring in wonder at His mountains, walking through fields filled with butterflies, and just being in His strong presence.
We had fellowship around the campfire, on the volleyball and football fields, at the beach and in the coffee bar. God blessed us all with His everlasting joy and love. He gave us new friends and new brothers and sisters in Christ.

We want to praise God for an amazing camp, and we want to ask you to join us in prayer and praise as we start with the teenage camp this week.
Blessings in Christ,
The Ama-Jikalezas

Camp
Emek Beraka

We are in a beautiful valley surrounded by lush green trees and fields that are decorated by wild flowers. In the distance you can hear the bells of the sheep grazing and enjoying the summer. We are in Borasko Jezero, an hour with the train from Mostar. This place is situated in a valley, surrounded by mountains with a beautiful blue lake, great swimming spot.
The team is working very hard and we are busy setting up camp and preparing the ground for the youth that arrive on the 3rd of July. The campsite is called Emek Beraka which means: The Valley of Blessings. This is the place where youth from all over Bosnia come and we share with them the Gospel. This is the highlight of the year for the Church of Bosnia I Herzegovina because God does miracles here!
We have prayer week from the 30th of June till camps start and all the leaders and pastors from the country will be united in prayer. God has given us scripture and I would like to share it with you.
Isaiah 43:19 God wants to do a new thing and we have a great expectancy. Join with us in prayer as we hunger for God to break through not just in our lives but also for this nation.
We will be in the mountains for the following 5 weeks because after youth camp we will also be camping with teenagers, kids and then with the adults. We are in a very remote area therefore we will not be communicating as often as we would like.

...a very hot race!!
At 5:30 am the tribe sneaks out of their sleeping places. Secretly they assemble to strategise their plans. Their journey will be far and they will encounter deadly beasts such as water buffaloes and snakes. They will suffer through the scorching heat to achieve their goal. But they will do it, because they are a tribe known for their endurance and strength. They are the Ama-Jikalezas.

…and GO! The race begins! Chief Jikaclara runs to draw a lot for the best van, and warrior Jikadude searches for an orphan boy to take along. Meanwhile tribe elder Jikaestee and tribe younger Jikaliesl get the supplies for the journey and they cheer their chief and warrior on.
The race is from the orphanage to the great Taj Mahal, with seven tasks to do on the way. All of us pile into the van and the race is on! Around the first corner we find a herd of Water Buffaloes and we stop to do our first task - to hug a Water Buffalo. The first buffalo we picked, clearly didn't want to be hugged, but fortunately our second choice didn't mind the attention of the strange foreigners.
We obtained a new pair of shoes at the orphanage before we left, and we had to bless someone with them, so the owner of the water buffaloes got a new pair of shoes. Task two accomplished!
Our other tasks included finding out five things about the Hindi culture by means of conversation, and searching for a foreigner from a country we've been to or are still going to this year. We also had to order at a McDonalds without using English or signs, and find 20 Bible verses on poverty. Lastly we had to take a photo with a Snake Charmer (a flute player who lures a snake out of a basket to make it dance).
We arrived at the Snake Charmer just seconds after the Brown team, but we left ahead of them, leading by only a few seconds. From there to the Taj Mahal we had a neck-on-neck race. Their van beat us there, but we managed to get some rickshaws before them. The rickshaws raced to the end, and we finished just seconds ahead of the Brown team. Overall we came second, with the Blue team being the winners.

A local took us on a backside tour of the Taj Mahal. We were taken through the original gardens and saw the magnificent engravings on the outside walls. The Ganges River flows just behind the Taj Mahal. It is in the Indian customs to sprinkle the ashes of a deceased in the river, or even to put the corpse itself on it. We also visited a Hindu temple that is built into the wall of the Taj Mahal and were taken to the crematorium nearby.

The day was truly interesting and we had a lot of fun. Compiling the list of Bible verses gave us a refreshed perspective on poverty and God's commands concerning the poor. Returning to the orphanage felt like returning home, because home is where the heart is, and these little children have captured our hearts with their mere being.
